Hutch at Snowshoe was perfect for our 3 day getaway
AMY Y. from Falls Church, VA

We enjoyed our stay at the hutch. More space than you realize! Clean, well-equipped kitchen (minus an ice cream scoop and the knives were kept loose in a drawer rather than in a knife block of in a drawer with guides). Everything worked well except we could not figure out how to make the shower work in one of the bathrooms. Management was very friendly and easy to work with. Beds were comfortable. We enjoyed mountain biking, hiking and disc golf at Snowshoe. Our only point to bring up is that the picture showed a grill, picnic table and firepit on the deck. We called ahead to make sure the grill was present and were told it was. When we got there - no grill. There was a miniature table top charcoal grill in one of the closets on the ground floor, but we did not have charcoal. It was not a game changer for us as we just modified our cooking plans - but there is no grill and no seating on the deck. Thankfully we brought our own chairs. The hot tub was really nice!!!!!!

Cozy place, great location, some TLC needed

This cute round house is in an awesome location. You can ski in/ski out. Some restaurants are within walking distance & a small grocery store is less than a mile away. The place itself was cozy & comfortable, with an amazing view. The hot tub was wonderful!
It's in need of a good deep cleaning as most surfaces were very dusty, but the areas where you cook and sleep were clean. The downstairs couch is in desperate need of replacing (the fake leather is peeling off) & a manual for the tv's is needed as we never could get the tv's to work (we see that other reviewers couldn't either).
A 4-wheel drive vehicle is needed to access or exit this location. We had an AWD, but the snowplow came through & buried our car. We requested a shovel from management, but instead had to borrow a shovel from a house nearby. Management was busy & have many rental houses to care for. We'd love to return, but will remember to bring a shovel of our own. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our time, and found the management staff to be friendly.
Beautiful and serene

AMAZING! For a house that looks small from the outside - its is so spacious and just keeps going and going and going. Great for a group that also appreciates space and separation. Several of the rooms have lots of extra floor space so if you want to cram in families - you can do that too!!

We could not have had a better stay at Hutch 6. The location is amazing and the house itself was perfect for me and 8 of my friends. Thank you to the Mountain Valley Realty team for quite the memorable experience. We are already looking forward to coming back next year!

The property overall was good. The owner did a great job decorating the place but there is definite wear that needs to be addressed. Most of the furniture is very worn and broken and uncomfortable to sit on. There are water stains on the ceiling that should be addressed and the rug should be cleaned. I know these are things that seem picky but if you want people to spend top dollar to stay at a property it should be in top shape. I would give the property a "B" over all.

This place had a beautiful view of the mountains; it was on a quiet road on a quiet side of the mountain. There were deer and fawns in front of the house everyday. We stayed here in July/August in the off-season. We were happy with our stay b/c we wanted to get away and this place provided that. The kitchen was updated and well-stocked with everything that I needed to be able to cook all our meals for the week. The fridge had an ice/water dispenser and the water tasted good.
I deducted a few stars on the "general condition" of the property because there was something small that was broken or in need of repair in about every room such as: broken bathroom outlet that I reported, broken drawers or missing drawer pulls, couch springs hanging to the floor so you sink into the couch, wobbly dining chairs that we tightened, dust, some minor things, etc. Each room needs a bit of TLC. It took 1-2 days to figure out the TV stuff; I'm so glad we brought our own Roku to hook hubby is technically inclined and it took about 30-40 minutes to finally figure out each of the 2 TV's that we used. I deducted 1 star for cleanliness b/c we discovered cheerios on the floor, a few shards of broken plastic pieces in the carpet, and dust in many places. Through the check-out app, I made some recommendations to the realty company on some things that needs addressed or would be nice to have; I will spare you that info. The pictures show a picnic table on the front deck, but there no table, only 1 broken metal we couldn't sit outside and enjoy the weather. I liked that it had a king bed and we slept comfortably in it. I liked that it had a hot tub. There are tons of extra pillows in various cabinets throughout the house; however, there were not any extra pillow cases except for the ones on the beds...you'd think with 10+ extra pillows that there would be extra bring your own extras if you like lots of pillows to sleep with.

We (my friends and I) have been staying at this place for at least 25 years. Through several owners. We come back for the location and for the space provided for our large crowd. Recently the interior has been upgraded so it is a nice place for families to stay.

Excellent location and house, however if they are making snow on cup be prepared to dig the cars out when you leave. Make sure to back in.

Great advice on the parking... Those guns are pretty powerful! But one of the best locations for snow! 🙂

We love the location of Hutch 6! Parking was good. The loft is really small and the trundle bed that is pictured is not there any longer so we were a bed short. This house is smaller than pictured but we made it work and had an absolute blast in this house! Would definitely rent it again in 2020!

GNCC weekend stay 2019
Alaina B. from Gypsy, WV

Very clean, nice location (close to the village but far enough for more privacy.) the only complaint I had was my sister in law had called about getting our TVs fixed, because none of them worked. Which wasn’t a big deal, we were outside most of the time for the GNCC races. But at night we had wanted to come in and relax and watch TV. We called and got told, “you don’t need to watch TV go outside, but we will send someone up to fix it.” No one ever came. So like I said, not a big deal, but if you pay a good bit of money for something you just expect everything to work, ya know? But overall beautiful rental, BEAUTIFUL view, very clean, would love to rent again for the following years.

We love staying at Hutch 6! This is our second year there. The house is in a very convenient location and Mountain Valley Realty was very helpful. They picked up our trash everyday and brought salt for the porch/walkway. We will be back!
